Following their well received debut album, Say Goodbye to Memory Den, from last year, which they recorded with with Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes and producer Gus Osberg, Tokyo's DYGL (pronounced "DAYGLO") are fresh off their showcases at SXSW with two brand new tracks.
Bridging a ferocious punk rock with retro garage and a more accessible indie rock style and sound, the Japanese quartet sounds ready to captivate the punk-inclined audiences, and also take the mainstream by storm. Both new tracks, the more upbeat, Bad Kicks and the mellower Hard To Love were produced by Test Icicles' Rory Atwell, and under the three-minute compactness that they both carry, come out as promising successors to DYGL's already impressive start.
Bad Kicks comes with an amazing video directed by Toto Vivian.
DYGL are Nobuki Akiyama (vocals, guitar), Yosuke Shimonaka (guitar), Yotaro Kachi (bass) and Kohei Kamoto (drums).
