King Black Acid has been around since the early nineties; a creative vessel for musician, producer, engineer and performer Daniel Riddle. The band's body of work already includes several albums, EPs and singles, and also their many contributions to films and TV shows.
You may have heard KBA's music through popular television shows like CSI Miami, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, MTV's Road Rules and Real World, CNN Sports and more, and also on very successful movies such as Underworld III Rise Of The Lycans, The Mothman Prophecies, The Texture Of Falling, Dream With Fishes, Witchblade and many others.
King Black Acid's upcoming release is comprised of a couple of covers of classic and beloved tracks. Side-A features KBA's dreamlike version of the Big Star song, I'm In Love With A Girl, off their 1974 LP, Radio City, while side-B is a moody take on the Carpenters 1971 standard, Superstar. Both these renditions come with a cinematic feel, and a dark and wistful twist, representative of the band's genre-bending spirit.
The single will be available on bubble gum pink 7-inch vinyl on April 27th, 2018, via Cavity Search Records/Mazinga Records.
