A relentless new post-punk offering drops from Hull's Lumer, as the band is in preparations for the release of their debut EP, Blood on Suits, due out June 15th, 2018. The up and coming four-piece came up with some impressive early singles last year, and they are now gearing up for their anticipated next step forward.
The six-minute long, Burn/Bleed, is an expansive, profoundly politicized piece, heavy in synth and feeling, which deals with the grim truth about the Middle East, the rationalized by government law pitiless killing that occurs at that part of the world. The track attempts to give voice to the anger and drive going over the thoughts of the British public.
The nods to grunge and heavy rock 'n' roll are still present, yet, on their new single Lumer's shift towards a colder and darker theme and aesthetic is clear, evidently manifested from the colorless cover art, and validated by the quartet's dynamic, more post-punk-inclined than ever sound.
Lumer are Alex Evans (bass/vocals), Benjamin Jackson (Guitar), Jacob Wardle (drums) and Thom Foster (synth/guitar).
