Presenting a rather stable balance between heaviness and indie rocking agility, London quartet, Modern Rituals (ex-Long Haul/Pariso) have just come out with their debut album, The Light That Leaks In, which follows their acclaimed EP, Stranger Culture from 2016.
In the two years of their existence as a band Modern Rituals have managed to rightfully make some heads turn their way, establish a firm live presence and share the stage with Cymbals Eat Guitars, Nothing, Mothers and Pile.
An incredible, diverse and on every level impressive combination of styles and sounds evinces a skillful band continuing to push expectations, as The Light That Leaks In takes its post hardcore, noise rock and post punk qualities and transforms them into an amalgamation which appears wholly fresh and riveting.
One of the album's highlights, Nebulon, comes with a moody black and white video, a splendid display of the band's dark vision and many-sided sound.
The Light That Leaks In is out now on Holy Roar.
