So this happened... While ready to kick off their second co-headlining expedition, Twins of Evil: The Second Coming Tour, Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson have collaborated on a cover of The Beatles' classic, Helter Skelter.
The White Album cut has been heavily associated with Charles Manson and the notorious series of murders that took place in Hollywood in 1969, and that Manson-helmed scenario according to which the song described a race war that was about to occur.
The song had been previously covered by tons of artists, such as Aerosmith, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Mötley Crüe, Oasis, Soundgarden and many more.
The new Zombie/Manson version features Zombie's band on the instrumentation, while the two shock rock stars take turns providing the sinister vocals which they recorded separately. The track premiered at Rolling Stone.
