Union Morbide was a pretty great, very energetic and impressive on their live shows, melodic hardcore punk band from the Netherlands. They were active from 1985 to 1995, and played approximately a thousand shows all over Europe, alongside notorious punk acts like Leatherface, Pennywise, No Use For A Name, Bad Religion, Toxic Reasons, Suicidal Tendencies, NOFX, GBH, Jawbox, Supersuckers and many others.
In 1994, right before their last European tour with longtime befriended band, Pennywise, Union Morbide recorded a seven-song EP which became the last thing they ever laid down, and which never saw the light of day.
Appropriately titled for today's terms, Old Punk, is the first of those recordings to be unveiled, ahead of the much overdue, Eyes Of EP, scheduled for release on July 27th, 2018. Union Morbide's melodic hardcore is much equivalent to the prominent punk sound of labels like Epitaph and Fat Wreck, and it comes striking, and worthy of more recognition.
