Comprised of Death And The Maiden guitarist/vocalist, Hope Robertson and bassist/vocalist, Lucinda King, alongside the guitarist for The Shifting Sands, Mike McLeod who serves as this project's drummer, New Zealand shoegaze/noise rock trio, Bad Sav, are gearing up for the release of their debut self-titled LP, due out September 21st, 2018 via Fishrider Records.
Album closer, Hen's Teeth, is the first track to surface from the upcoming record, a piece reminiscent of shoegaze's rougher and fuzzier side, very well-knit and amalgamated with a more jangly and psych pop sound, resulting to something equally agile and melodious.
Although rather different than both acts Bad Sav derive from, Hen's Teeth seems to be subtly carrying a lot of the dark qualities of Death And The Maiden's sound, as well as the the multi-leveled and versatile guitar-driven individuality that The Shifting Sands have to offer, and it is a splendid and promising forerunner for the coming full length.
