Alongside his much anticipated collaboration for the upcoming Halloween flick with frequent collaborators, his father, legendary creator, John Carpenter and Daniel Davies, Cody Carpenter has one more commendable album coming up, this time under his Ludrium moniker.
Reflections, follows Cody's recent instrumental albums. Interdependence and Shadow Spirits Vol. 1, and it's a nine track set of original songs with vocals, showing a completely different stylistic approach than the progressive-inclined instrumental sound he's been mostly noted for. The new album was written and performed by Carpenter and co-produced by himself and John Spiker (Tenacious D, Beck) who also provides backing vocals.
Cody likes to distinguish those two aspects of his music: "I decided to use the name Ludrium to differentiate my music with vocals from my instrumental music, which I release under the name Cody Carpenter. It’s still just me writing all the music and lyrics, but I wanted to make it a separate entity from my instrumental progressive rock and fusion stuff."
Causal Fate Chain stands right in the middle of Reflections, conspicuous for its sharp retro pop sound, its dreamy, wistful character and musing lyrics, and it streams for the first time ever right below.
Reflections comes out on Lakeshore Records on August 31st, 2018 digitally and on CD.
