Velvet Rope is the second track unveiled off the forthcoming album by King Dude, his seventh full length in total. A beautiful, cinematic video comes paired with the song's somber mood, created in collaboration with director Vlad Protsenko, and shot in a Soviet-era apartment in Kiev, Ukraine, starring TJ Cowgill himself and an elderly woman.
"I wanted to visit Kiev again after playing there last October for the first time," TJ Cowgill describes. "There’s a certain intangible energy to Ukraine and to the all the wonderful people that I've met there—they seem ecstatic to be alive, finally free from a corrupt government. It struck me as the perfect place to make a music video for a song on Music To Make War To."
Music To Make War To comes out August 24th, 2018 via Ván Records.
