Comprised of members of The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Division of Laura Lee and Affordable Hybrid, Swedish hardcore punks, Pablo Matisse follow their debut EP from last year with a new two-track release, and a dynamic approach, immensely evocative of the indie garage punk rocking sound of the 2000s, and the spirited high energy rock 'n' roll of other notorious Scandinavian acts, such as The Hellacopters and Gluecifer.
Strong and to the point, like the fist that embellishes the single's cover, Rise is ninety seconds of pure verve, definitely suggestive of pure hardcore-infused punk rock in its prime, and a promising precursor of the band's forthcoming EP, due out in October 2018.
