Sacramento darkwave/post punk band, Creux Lies, have recently released their outstanding debut full length, The Hearth, through the legendary Cleopatra Records.
The album is a neo-romantic masterpiece, heavily leaning toward the dark post punk and synthpop sound of the eighties, rightly presenting the band's brilliant musicianship and strong production. The five-piece's impressive sound and classy posture are enhanced by the inherent melancholy in the songwriting, and their always apt delivery, while it becomes evident from the first listen that those mesmerizing lead vocals simply cannot be missed.
Creux Lies have already shared the stage with an array of mind-blowing acts like Clan of Xymox, Drab Majesty, Soft Kill, Vowws and many others.
Portals, the first sIngle and highlight track off The Hearth, is accompanied by a freshly revealed visual, equally imposing as the music itself, directed by Eric Scharfenberger in collaboration with the band, and starring some beautifully designed masks, courtesy of Wintercroft.
"The song Portals is about romantic mythology, predatory love, dualism, etc," the band state. "In the case of the video's concept, it's a killer eat's killer tale. There will be no prisoners taken in the war for love."
