The impressive lineup of freshly established band, Piroshka, consists of Miki Berenyi (Lush), KJ McKillop (Moose), Justin Welch (Elastica) and Mick Conroy (Modern English). Brickbat is going to be the super quartet's debut album, scheduled to come out February 15th, 2019 via Bella Union, introduced by Everlastingly Yours, a wonderful first single which leans more toward the fancy shoegaze-y sound of Lush, but also carries much from the indie rock character each member cleverly brings into the mix.
The band has yet to present itself as a live act, but a European tour is already planned to support the LP's release, while their premiere appearance will occur at The Lexington in London on November 27th, 2018, an already sold out gig.
Although this derives from a lot of Brit indie history, right off the bat it feels more like a unique and individual project with its own personality, and less like a mere spin off of some great bands of yesteryear.
