Last month's Fat Cat was the first sample of the ferocious post punk boldness that Chooch, the upcoming album by Chicago's The Walking Bicycles, originates, and now ESP comes to confirm that the gifted band has come up with a great full length which reflects their selectivity and elegance.
ESP deals with conspiracy theories, the idolization of the wrong people and things, and the eventual darkness that comes with it all. It's another sharp commentary on the political and social standings of our days, and it comes with all the radicalism that characterizes the band's work and general posture.
Fresh and edgy guitar driven indie rock meets with dark post punk and organic noise rock sounds, comprising an enticing listen that feels equally DIY and adept, and reads like a loud rejection of anything conventional.
Chooch was recorded at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio studio, and it out on April 26th, 2019 through the band's own label, Highwheel Records.
