After a run of exquisite early singles, Southampton shoegazers, Burning House, have set a release date for their anticipated full length debut, and reveal its title, together with another fantastic new track off it. Anthropocene comes out July 12th, 2019 via MIOHMI Records.
The newly unveiled, If You Won't, shows the band's flair for a more accessible, pop-centered and memorable style of writing, juxtaposed to their characteristic grittiness in their torrential production and instrumentation, and the result is definitely a head turner.
"The song is about distance and longing," says frontman, Aaron Mills. "Love as a kind of paradox… absence making the heart grow fonder… the imagining of what might be, though doubting it possible in this world. The lyrics are deliberately vague as it’s more about what isn’t being said, and dare not be spoken. Often what we want to convey can only drown out the pure vulnerability of the consecrated moment and the music is trying to transport you to that place, within the chimes and elastic guitar motifs."
Pre-orders for Anthropocene are already launched. The album comes out on gatefold electric blue vinyl, and exclusive deluxe bundle composed of LP, CD, handwritten lyrics, t-shirt, tote bag and artwork print.

22nd June - Leicester, w/ Dayflower
19th July - London, Sebright arms
