Mixing hazy shoegaze with shiny synthpop into something completely new, atmospheric and imaginative, Brooklyn's Kempt were formed only last winter, and they are composed of James Hanna (Asobi Seksu) and MC Wolfe (Dance for the Dying).
The duo released their EP, Blissing, late in 2018 and now come forth with a new, lively and colorful single. Commune astounds through its tunefulness, the beautiful pairing of male/female vocals, its instrumental wealth and solid production, and manages to merge gazey and glimmering sounds very much ably and delectably.
This is another kind of dreampop and a sharp version of goth-inclined electronica, all amalgamated, redefined and definitely done right.
