Not only a very much aspiring work for Kristin Hayter herself, but also one of the most cutting edge and progressive new pieces of music of 2019 thus far, Butcher of the World is the first track unveiled off Caligula, the anticipated forthcoming album by Lingua Ignota. Following the self-released and well received, All Bitches Die, from 2017, the new album will be released on July 19th, 2019 on Profound Lore Records.
Creating an avant garde compound that draws from harsh noise and extreme metal to even classical music and opera, Butcher of the World sounds delicate and bare while utterly sinister, intricate and intimidating. The song evidently seems to be stepping away from the industrial approach of Hayter's earlier releases, and on balance it is definitely hard to pin down, yet, it's strong impact is undeniable.
Caligula was engineered and mixed by Seth Manchester, and mastered by Heba Kadry, and features contributions from Sam McKinlay (THE RITA), Lee Buford (The Body) and Ted Byrnes (Cackle Car, Wood & Metal), with guest vocals from Dylan Walker (Full of Hell), Mike Berdan (Uniform), and Noraa Kaplan (Visibilities).
