Following their acclaimed EP, Destroyers, from 2017, Los Angeles-based quartet, Ramonda Hammer, come forth with the release of their debut full length, I Never Wanted Company, out June 14th, 2019 on New Professor Music. With evident influences drawing from grunge, nineties alternative rock and celebrated acts such as L7, Veruca Salt, Babes in Toyland, Liz Phair and Alice In Chains, on Better View the contemporary band shows a knack for well presented and cathartic songwriting, leaning on themes like desolation, nihilism and self-determination.
"I’m an anxious person," says songwriter and vocalist, Devin Davis. "It helps me to play loud, loud, loud rock music with gritty sounds and brash lyrics. I want to challenge people, and help them find independence and self-acceptance. Sometimes you need people to scream at you – in a loving way – to wake you up."
Ramonda Hammer are Devin Davis on vocals and guitar, Justin Geter on guitar, Andy Hengl on bass and Mark Edwards on drums.
The nice accompanying visual to Better View was directed by Tess O’Connor.
