Having released a distinguished series of singles and videos leading to the first part of their debut LP, Infancy, Scottish post punk act, The Ninth Wave, have been prolific and consistent with their outings during the last year. The band now unveil the latest single off the album, and its very much grim, artful and cinematic accompanying clip, shot in a bleak Glaswegian setting by Bryan. M Ferguson.
This Broken Design is another excellent carrier of the band's acute lyricism and their eighties-infused new wave sound, and the album's imposing opener. Sharp, well thought out and effective as usual, the song deals with perplexed feelings, bygones and finding comfort in strangers.
Part I of Infancy is out now via Distiller Music, while Part II is due November 15th, 2019.
