That glorious match between director Nicolas Winding Refn and composer Cliff Martinez which has left behind momentous works of art such as Drive, Only God Forgives and The Neon Demon, continues on an anticipated television series which the prolific filmmaker wrote alongside comic book writer, Ed Brubaker. Too Old to Die Young arrives June 14th, 2019 on Amazon Prime Video, while its score will be released through Milan Records on the same day.
A second taste off the soundtrack, Starlight Cantina is a sinister piece, which in less that three minutes delineates much from the best that Martinez's immersive musicianship has to offer, and the composer's masterful fusion of traditional and electronic assets. Just like its predecessor, Naked Guy Murder, it feels like something crucial and interdependent with its accompanying visuals' narrative.
