Long before the announcement of their upcoming debut LP, New York's Me Not You, won over audiences and a significant part of alternative publications through some very much appealing EP and single releases. The productive duo will be coming through with their first album, Already Gone in September 2019, and Sun Will Rise which streams for the first time in this post, is the lead single from it.
The new single comes shortly after the more mellow, Moving On, from last month, taking a more lively, traditional garage pop approach this time around, marking Me Not You's welcome return to the guitars and drums. Sun Will Rise arrives subtly evocative of some of their earlier, successful offerings with which they attracted well deserved attention, and presents the duo in a very creative aspect of their notable path, touching on themes of introversion and hopefulness.
"Our last three singles followed me down to my lowest point, dealing with loss and change while endeavoring to find love in beauty in it," the band's own, Nikki Taylor, reveals to D//E. "Sun Will Rise is the journey out of the darkness, finding hope in the realization that no matter what transpires during the night, the sun will indeed rise again."
