Tapetown does it again, this time hosting another superb session with Danish up and comers, Mavourneen, who recorded their coming album in NYC last year with Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth, and are currently discussing with major labels about its release.
Bliss is a grating amalgamation of gazey noise rock and post punk which comes with an extended, bitterly moody introduction, before the band erupts into a distorted, heavy and fervent performance, all in front of a small, yet, very lucky audience.
Part of SPOT Festival 2019, Mavourneen's live rendition of Bliss comes across stately, vivid and electric, complementary to the band's solid contemporary punk sound, and extremely promising, indicating of their strength both as performers and composers.
