After a very successful path as a film composer and a collaborator to artists compatible with his emboldened creativity, Rob Simonsen is gearing up for the release of his long awaited solo debut, RĂªveries, scheduled to come out September 6th, 2019 through Sony Music Masterworks.
Simonsen has been the creative force behind movie soundtracks like The Front Runner, Love, Simon, Nerve, Foxcatcher, The Way, Way Back and The Spectacular Now, while he has also provided additional music alongside his mentor, Mychael Danna, for scores such as Moneyball and Life Of Pi.
Simonsen is also the founder of the Los Angeles-based non-profit artist collective, The Echo Society, through which he has worked with artists such as Mica Levi, Chelsea Wolfe, Jonsi, Julianna Barwick and many more.
RĂªveries was previously introduced with Spectre, which is now followed by Coeur, another immersive and riveting piece, paradigmatic of Simonsen's brilliant instrumentation. Both tracks demonstrate an artful, expansive and very much dreamlike drift, and come with beautiful videos, realized and directed by the artist himself.
"It is an honor to be joining the Sony Masterworks family," says Rob Simonsen. "They are a legacy label that is moving in interesting directions and I couldn’t be more excited to be releasing studio albums with this creative, international team."
