Four months after the punk earworm that was their previous single, Pub Feed, Australian trio, The Chats, return with another memorable and super fun track, paired with a playful video on which the band prove that they can also be pretty amusing actors. Identity Theft continues in the same smart vein as their first smash hit, Smoko, which was even covered live by Idles on their recent Australian tour, and was the main reason for The Chats' rise in popularity two years ago,
Having previously been handpicked by Josh Homme to open for Queens of The Stone Age, and after recently signing with Universal Music Publishing Australia, the band seem to be on a great roll. Currently on their first tour of the States, their near future is packed with dates all over Australia and Europe.
While all three of the band's members turn only twenty this year, what lies ahead for them appears more than bright. The Chats are totally on par with Australian punk's rich history and tradition, and it's beyond doubt that we'll be hearing more of them soon.
