Birmingham psychedelic rockers, The Lizards, have just come through with a colorful and extra fuzzy new cut, combining an irresistibly direct retro garage rock 'n' roll sound with space rock and far-reaching psychedelia. Astroboy was produced to perfection by Gavin Monaghan whose work we have previously heard in the tracks by The Twang, Editors and Ocean Colour Scene, and comes with a superb video directed by William Douglas.
Frontman, Dan Whitehouse says of Astroboy: "It’s your classic, clichéd coming-of-age pop song that’s all about trying things for the first time…it’s about getting too high with your friends, basically."
The Lizards are Dan Whitehouse (vocals, guitar), Harry Shaw (keys, guitar), Liam Radburn (drums, percussion) and Radek Kubiszyn (bass). The band has been on a consistent rise since their inception in 2016, and this latest single of theirs suggest that they won't be stopping any time soon.
