Alongside the release of their anticipated debut full length, Austin's Blushing present that intriguing part of their sound which elegantly inclines toward different ways than their customarily hazy shoegaze, and turn their focus on styles like post punk and coldwave.
Control is that exceptional track on Blushing's genuinely delectable self titled LP, which looks up at Joy Division and Siouxsie for inspiration, instead of the usual suspects like MBV or Ride. Elliott Frazer's (of Ringo Deathstarr) production once again shines, and the Texan foursome seem to be successfully coming upon a new way to demonstrate their colorful indie rock vision and musicianship, all within the tightly structured concept of a really well conceived record.
Blushing is out now through Wallflower Records (LP) and Hands and Moment (CD).
