For their first single in a little over a year, Oddnesse address existential notions such as escapism, once more pairing their thoughtful lyricism with an artful power pop sound, founded on easygoing guitar lines and well balanced beats.
"I’ve only done this once," Rebeca Arango comments. "That is, procure donuts at sunrise. The song is about the decision to drop out for a bit. It also plays with the idea of being eternally stuck in a consciousness loop, a la Murakami’s Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World. Maybe my protagonist gets lost and never makes it to the donut shop."
The creative alliance between LA through East Coast songwriters and producers, Rebeca Arango and Grey Goon, keeps holding strong and delivering, almost three years after our first encounter with their cultivated pop sound.
