Pop. 1280 are ready with the release of their first new album in three years. Way Station was recently introduced with Under Duress, and now a fantastic music video surfaces off it, one that matches the band's post apocalyptic industrial punk with equally distressing visuals, shot entirely on VHS and directed by Mark Perro of The Men.
The band comment in a statement: "The song itself is a story of a film technician losing his mind on set. The lyrics explore the terrible punishment we put our bodies and minds through in the world of capitalism. It also explores the topics of human degradation and humiliation, and the violence that erupts from people when they are dehumanized."
Absolutely relentless, the newly unveiled track is the opening cut to the band's anticipated new album.
"Boom Operator was recorded live in one take by Andrew Chugg at Gilded Audio," they add. "When the song was written, it started with the drum pattern and vocals and was built up around that. After that the throbbing synth was written, the last thing we figured out was the guitar. It is in the key of B minor and is 130 beats per minute."
Way Station will be out December 6th, 2019 through the Belgian label, Weyrd Son Records.
