Brooklyn indie rock four-piece, Sharkswimmer, follow their debut EP, Shut-In, from this past May with a new three-song release, Stolen Goods, out November 5th, 2019 through the Texan label, Cosmic Western.
Introductory single, Windowsill, is a memorable four-minute mixture of shoegaze-y emo rock and punk which features bassist, Steph Buschardt on lead vocals, and finds the band in great form on the whole, justifying their increasing reputation as a live act.
Sharkswimmer began as the brainchild of their main songwriter, guitarist and vocalist, Justin Buschardt, formerly of the post rock band, Inside Voices, right after the warm reception of his opening show for Vinnie Caruana of Long Island punks, The Movielife. "That sort of pushed me to be like, 'Oh, shit, people seem to be into this thing that I’m doing by myself'," Justin says. "But I really want to be able to do it with a full band."
Sharkswimmer are the aforementioned Justin Buschardt and Steph Buschardt, together with Danny De Juan (guitar) and Jesse Reed (drums). Stolen Goods was produced by Abe Seiferth (Car Seat Headrest, Yeasayer).
