Following the very much acclaimed within the dark underground world, Colt, from 2018, accomplished musician, Hilary Woods, will be releasing her sophomore album, Birthmarks, on March 13th, 2020 through Sacred Bones.
The new album was written over the course of two years and recorded while Woods was heavily pregnant, between Galway and Oslo, in the winter of 2019.
First example and the album's opening cut, Tongues of Wild Boar, is a powerful track along the lines of the warm melancholy the Irish artist's debut discharged two years ago. Aerial, picturesque and obscure, the song excels for its instrumental beauty and haunted vocal, and it comes with an incredible video put together by Woods herself, demonstrating her obvious deftness in creating grabbing cinematography.
"For me, Tongues of Wild Boar is fierce, pliable and incessant," Woods says of the new track. "Navigating emotionally charged states of discomfort and becoming, it is a song deeply lodged in the body that yearns to surface for air and escape its own shadow."
