Forerunners of the Texan shoegaze scene, Ringo Deathstarr have a new full length ready, their self titled one, expected out on March 27th, 2020 through the great label Club AC30. It will be the band’s sixth, and it has been introduced with the superbly moody, psych-bent first single, God Help The Ones You Love.
Awash with haziness and sharply produced as expected, the song once more exhibits the band’s powerful combination of fuzz and mellowness, this time presenting them at the peak of their maturity.
“Previously I had the ability to focus and make really great demos and I was able to be in the studio ten hours a day a few days a week for three months. Then the album was finished,” Elliot Frazer explains what it took for the album to get done. “Because this new record was started after I became a father, and I had no idea what it would be like, I was a stay at home dad during the day and working at night! Gone were the days of fiddling about for hours with melodies and it took longer personally.”
