Following the example of bands like Amyl & The Sniffers, The Chats, Dune Rats, Gold Minds and more of those who have been keeping the Aussie punk rock spirit alive with their tenacity and savvy, Picket Palace release their lively new single, No Fun Intended.
The song follows the band's previous hit, Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti, from last year which earned them a lot of acclaim and turned heads their way abruptly. The momentousness is again there, only this time the band appears more deliberate on their perspective.
Not only its title reflects the truisms of both American and British punk rock, but the song's three-minute density and the blatant delivery which the band exuberantly supplies make up for something that bears a strong resemblance to the classics while sounding incredibly fresh. No Fun Intended is a rugged garage rocker formulated on harmoniousness, grit and animated rock 'n' roll backbone.
