Australian garage punk quartet, Goldminds, have their debut album, Signals, in the works and planned to come out soon, and off it comes a second example of the band's raw and convincing sound, a little after the fantastic first single that was Anxiety.
The Spirit Knows is a classically and tightly structured garage rock 'n' roll tour de force, built on memorable guitar riffage, a pulsating rhythm section and crushing vocals. The new song follows a more psychedelic trajectory than the blunt force of Goldminds' debut track, giving off voodoo and horror rock impressions, while it once again finds the Melbourne band coming up with a positively winsome delivery.
Like Anxiety, the very fresh The Spirit Knows was produced and mixed by Michael Badger (King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Amyl & The Sniffers), and recorded at Hothouse with Jez Giddings.
