The ever prolific Wire have a new album in the works, a special one composed of songs to which the band refers as 'strays'. 10:20 was initially scheduled to be a Record Store Day release, but ultimately it is getting a general release though the band's own imprint, pinkflag, on June 19th, 2020.
Previously available as a first draft on the EP, The Third Day, from 2000, and on Recycling Sherwood Forest from their legal bootleg series, The Art of Persistence is now finalized properly in the studio, possessing all of the composed gravity and nerviness which have been characterizing the post punk pioneers' artistry for decades.
The song comes with a clip made from still images from the band's performance at Band on The Wall in Manchester on January 28th, 2020. Wire prompt their fans to donate to the Save Our Stages campaign which benefits venues in order for them to stay open after the pandemic.
