Crickets are a new act composed of members from experienced and well celebrated bands. The band's lineup consists of JD Samson (Le Tigre, MEN), Michael O'Neill (MEN, Princess) and Roddy Bottum (Faith No More, Imperial Teen/Nastie Band), and their sound explores a more minimal and refined side of post punk, bringing to mind acts like The Flying Lizards and ESG.
Crickets' self-titled debut album is expected on July 17th, 2020 via Muddguts, and the first single, Elastic, represents the the band's eccentric and experimental songwriting nature, while thematically it becomes a solid counterattack on toxic masculinity.
The song comes with an artistic clip directed by the band's own, JD Samson.
Notably, the proceeds from the single will be donated to INCITE! and the Okra Project.
