Eye Of Nix: Concealing Waters

Following their 2017 album, Black Somnia, Seattle's Eye Of Nix return with another fine showcase of their aptness in contrast and genre mixture. Concealing Waters comes from the band's forthcoming third full length, Ligeia, which releases June 19th, 2020 through Prophecy Productions. It's another commendable combination of the band's post metal, doom and alternative gothic sounds,  this time leaning heavily toward black metal, and it comes with a very creative and cinematic video directed by Joseph Seuferling.

Ligeia was produced by the band alongside Michael Zech (Secrets Of The Moon, The Ruins of Beverast, Triptykon), and mastered by James Plotkin (Isis, Nadja). The album borrows its title from the Greek mythology, in particular from one of the sirens who enticed humans to their demise, and handles a big array of emotions and ideas which come forth both consoling and distressing, paralleling the multifariousness of its sounds to its concepts.

"Swirling winds, blasts and drenched melodies ignite into a firestorm of choruses as voices call out blindly for relief," the band describe. "Concealing Waters is offered as solace, escape and renewal."

Eye of Nix are Joy Von Spain (guitar, vocals), Nicholas Martinez (guitar), Masaaki Masao (keys, sound collages), Zach Wise (bass) and Luke LaPlante (drums).
