The exploratory ambient electronica of Icelandic duo, Hugar, is in full bloom on their new project, The Vasulka Effect, the soundtrack of the film of the same name which is due out October 2nd, 2020 on Sony Masterworks.
Following the strong visual for the album opener, A New Renaissance, the band composed of Bergur Þórisson and Pétur Jónsson reveal another mesmerizing clip, this time for the track Enigma, offering a taste of the creative drive of the documentary's subject, the pioneering video artist Woody Vasulka. The new video was created from previously unseen footage from the Brotherhood exhibition which took place at the Berg Contemporary, Tokyo, in 1998, and it presents a closer look at the artist's creative eye and methods.
More ambient electronic than the neo-classical and post rock nature of their previous works, The Vasulka Effect: Music for the Motion Picture is expected to demonstrate an even moodier and more atmospheric side of the band's musical ingenuity, while the strong cinematic properties are self-evident.
