Mark Lanegan is fresh from the release of a new album, Straight Songs of Sorrow, which came out last May through Heavenly Recordings, yet, last year's Somebody's Knocking keeps on giving, and gets a new interpretation in the hands of darkwave act, IYEARA. The British trio re-imagine the whole album, and they're about to release it as Another Knock At The Door (IYEARA remixes) on August 21st, 2020.
Both parts have been chameleonic and reliable collaborative artists, with Lanegan having been famously included in works alongside The Twilight Singers, Queens of the Stone Age, Soulsavers, UNKLE, Duke Garwood, Earth and many more, while IYEARA have done remixes for LUMP, UNKLE, Humanist with Dave Gahan, The Prodigy, The Boxer Rebellion, Paris Youth Foundation, The Ting Tings and others.
Playing Nero is the first single released from the coming album, on which IYEARA add a very welcome industrial feel to the track's moody lyricism, providing a strong match to Lanegan's always imposing vocal delivery.
IYEARA are composed of The Duke Spirit guitarist Toby Butler, producer Malcolm Carson and vocalist Paul O’Keeffe.
