Although most certainly not an accessible single in the term's true sense, Constant Hum, becomes the second piece that calls attention to the forthcoming album by LA-based band, Sprain. As Lost Through Collision comes out in its entirety on September 4th, 2020 through The Flenser, and the fresh ten-minute song which closes the album, shows more of the band's heavier and more sorrowful side, which feels quite akin to their slowcore facet, and appears opposed to the more technical post punk sound of the previously unveiled Worship House.
Constant Hum builds its emotions in a painstakingly slow manner, and the quartet's exhibition of raw delivery and a crystalline sound is once again stately and absorbing. As Lost Through Collision was engineered by Josiah Mazzaschi at The Cave (Built to Spill, The Jesus and Mary Chain) and mixed by Tim Green at Louder Studios (The Melvins, Lungfish, Jawbreaker).
