Athens, Georgia band, Shehehe, bring their punk and high energy rock and roll dynamism to the most on their wild and rowdy new album, Pet Songs. Their fourth full length in total, the new LP showcases a good deal of ripening and evolution in the band's straightforward rock 'n' roll spirit and writing, without losing any of the zing which epitomizes their sound.
Down the Stairs, the latest single off the 14-track full length, is a direct punk/rock 'n' roll knockout which exhibits the very strong chemistry between the male and female vocals, and comes forth as a loving glorification of a touring band's life on the road.
"Down the Stairs is a tribute to life on the road," reveals the band's own, Noelle Shuck. "Shehehe has been road-tested, road-worn, and at times road-beaten. This song reflects both the joys of that lifestyle, such as meeting some of our best friends, connecting with people of myriad backgrounds who come to our shows, and realizing the impact our music can have, as well as its challenges, like falling down a set of stairs the morning after a late night, getting pink eye, or having to say goodbye to the bands you share tours and form irreplaceable bonds and memories with."
"All of this is expressed in our signature call and response vocal style," Noelle continues, "and an energetic, push-and-pull arrangement and lyrics that contrast the moments of euphoria with the inevitable moments of uncertainty, and ultimately answer the question of what it is that we aim to do: play our music as widely as we can for as long as we can, for anyone who will listen. Despite the struggles that the road can present, its rewards outweigh them tenfold, every time."
