Portland post punk band, Soft Kill, return with a new single and video, Roses All Around, the introduction to the anticipated, Dead Kids, R.I.P. City. The band's first canonical album in two years, and follow up to the acclaimed, Savior, will be released on November 20th, 2020 through Cercle Social Records.
Roses All Around is the coming LP's opening piece, and it slants more toward the dreamier and gazier side of the band's sound. Like the rest of the album, it's produced by David Trumfio (Built To Spill, Wilco) and mastered by Howie Weinberg (The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana), so it's well reasoned to expect downright perfection on that level.
Since the release of Savior in 2018 Soft Kill have been very active putting out individual singles, EPs, demo compilations and more. The new song from the coming record, which was two years in the making, shows the band at their most fully fledged, and presents their vision for a gloomy and super shrewd post punk sound totally realized.
The accompanying video was shot in downtown Portland, and it represents the inner spirit of someone struggling with drug addiction.
