Gearing up for the release of his eighth full length in about four years of the project's existence, Manchester producer, Ed Hawx, better known in the darksynth world as DEADLIFE, reveals the dark and overall cinematic new track, Drift. The anticipated new album, Dark Nation, will come out in its entirety on November 20th, 2020 through one of the most seminal outlets for everything synthwave related, NewRetroWave.
The instrumental new cut, Drift, follows the more pop-inclined recent single, Her Broken Smile, and unfolds the moodier side of the artist's sound, with an expertly executed all electronic production, and a generally goth-bent direction which could be part of an intricate cyberpunk narrative, or stand entirely on its own as something genuine and wholesomely attention-grabbing.
As the numbers and the milestones in DEADLIFE's path become bigger and more impressive, the quality of the music stays consistently high, if not progressed.
