The Body: A Lament

The first album worthy for which to look out in 2021 has just been announced, and it belongs to the ever prolific The Body. Once again steeped in extreme distortion, deep into experimentalism and very much intriguing as to the titles and overall direct poetry, the duo's coming full length, I've Seen All I Need to See, releases January 29th, 2021 through Thrill Jockey Records.

Acclaimed engineer, Seth Manchester, who contributes to the production alongside the duo, comments on the new album: "It's a meditation on distortion. We tried pushing the limits of each piece of gear in the studio to hear what its breaking point sounded like and then recorded it - even feeding the console back on itself during one particular live take."

Mastering engineer, Matt Colton, adds: "The distortion has this ability to envelope you, and not push you away. It has this strange kind of beautiful timbre...once you give into the sheer power of it, and let it take you on a ride then it becomes this whole other kind of sonic experience."

A Lament is the hair raising album opener and first single which finds The Body in all their otherworldly, heavily distorted mastery.
