Melodic death metal has found a new championing act, Northeast Ohio's The Behest Of Serpents, a band composed of members from other local groups, whose influences include genre staples like At The Gates, The Haunted and others.
Disciples, the band's coming full length is due out on March 5th, 2021, and the all dynamic, Hypocrite, is the first single off it, a piece with a piercing sound and a grave concept.
"Hypocrite is about the hypocrisy of the church and the congregations that follow it," explains vocalist Steven Lunsford. "I grew up in the church and saw people come to get their weekly dose of god and pray for forgiveness, just to leave and act like nothing happened. Paying money to an organization that abuses children while they turn a blind eye."
The song comes with a creative video which further accentuates the music's theme and strong message the band successfully convey.
