Darren Jackson's Kid Dakota project has come a long way since its inception in 1999. Following two full lengths on Low's Chairkicker's Union and three more on Graveface Records, Kid Dakota has recently released album number six, Age of Roaches, continuing the streak with Graveface.
An accomplished, consistently deft songwriter, Darren Jackson continues being a revered representative of engrossing indie rock, with his new material having signs of being all around stirring and aware of the genre tropes, yet, indicative of the forward looking creative state on which the multifaceted musician is set.
The opening title track of Age of Roaches attests to Kid Dakota's songwriting maturation and overall great form, and finds the project sounding reflective and sharp at once.
