Rockford, Illinois-based dreampop act, Side Thing, have just released the single and video, A Foundling, a little ahead of their coming album, It's Safe, coming February 12th, 2021 through the consistently on the rise BIRTHDIY (Spirit Goth Records). The new album follows the very promising and rather atypical in nature, Seance Fiction, which was released last year, and unveiled the band's knack for wistful lo-fi/bedroom pop song structures, combined with a strong inclination for experimentation.
A Foundling stands nearer to the moody and melancholic dreampop underpinning of Side Thing, as its form, arrangement and the quality of its production indicate the band's steady growth and maturation, while it also carries the eerie properties of their earlier material.
