Evolutionary Cycles is the fifth album by Dutch experimental ambient act, Tangent, expected out on March 12th, 2021 through n5MD, and coming once more with a clear artistic vision and a compelling concept.
Following on from Approaching Complexity from 2018, the new album takes a different route, shifting from the classical-inclined piano themes to broodier synths, and experimental ways of instrumentation, including dense and minimal percussion.
The duo pull influence from nature and the impact humankind has had on it, and present an entire work made from contrasting notions, contradicting sentimental weightiness with casual glances of bright optimism.
The Origin of Structures offers a clean and wide view of the album's mood and concept, and it comes with a video which renders the same subject matter.
