Portland artist King Yosef and LA duo Youth Code prepare for the release of their collaborative album, A Skeleton Key in the Doors of Depression, coming out on March 9th, 2021.
The duo sides decided to work together based on their mutual appreciation, and the initial plan was to come up with a four-song EP, still, the musical chemistry between them was proven capable of producing more than that.
Looking Down is the latest track unveiled from the project, an edgy piece which leans more on Youth Code's industrial/noise side, and has King Yosef's hip-hop approach providing more depth and dimension.
Instrumentals and production were put together remotely, but for the vocals Sara Taylor decided to fly to Portland in September of 2020, at a time when the place was in a state of emergency, and put in more work and finishing touches to the record alongside King Yosef over the course one week.
