Three singles in, Swedish dreampop trio, CHIVVY, have well established themselves as one of the rosiest new acts in the world of ethereal shoegaze, art pop and beyond. The band's latest offering, Deeper Blue, has been exhibitive of the smooth genre amalgamation in which they indulge, and it is now being paired to a new video directed by Jakob Ekvall.
Contrary to CHIVVY's previous visual offering, an elaborately choreographed clip for their first single, Red Water, the new video comes with an earthier DIY identity, all shot in Super 8 film through which the feelings of nostalgia and loss become deeply magnified, keeping pace with the music's emotionality.
Paradigmatic of how CHIVVY's poignant and very inclusive psychedelic indie pop metamorphoses into visual form, Deeper Blue now appears consummated on a different level, gradually becoming an emblem of the band's identity.
