For his solo project, Jaguar Sun, Ontario-based multi instrumentalist, Chris Minielly, cites influence from STRFKR, Youth Lagoon, and Panda Bear, and comes up with his own wistful version of atmospheric dreampop. The artist has recently released the full length, This Empty Town, and returns with a collaborative project alongside Jesse Maranger, the four-track release, Blooms, expected through Born Losers Records on April 23rd, 2021.
First track off it, Sunset, is expressive of the downbeat experimental pop which the two artists' union produces, and it arrives with a psych pop angle, and a generally sharply crafted sound.
"Sunset is about the right person at the wrong time," they state. "The desire that you could start fresh and meet for the first time again but the underlying hope that you can still push through and make things work."
