Mannequin Pussy went from the underground punk of their first two albums to the well-deserved universal acclaim that Patience brought them in 2019. The latest news about the band has it that they continue on as a trio, after the departure of guitarist Thanasi Paul. With their lineup consisting of Missy on lead vocals and guitar, Colins “Bear” Regisford on bass, and Kaleen Reading on drums, the band announced the coming of their new EP, Perfect, releasing on May 21st, 2021 through Epitaph.
"We just figured if we forced ourselves into this situation where someone could hit 'record,' something might come out," Missy comments on how the band felt compelled to continue working on new material, against everything that's imposed by the pandemic. "We'd never written that way before."
Opening track, Control, arrives with the video directed by Missy, and unveils the band's advancement into 2021 being rather forcible and effective.
